Project Overview
Fast Affordable Air recently completed a residential HVAC installation in Las Vegas, Nevada. The customer needed a high-efficiency solution for cooling and heating their home. We installed a 2-ton 14.3 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor gas furnace and air conditioner, providing reliable performance and energy efficiency.
Challenges and Considerations
- Limited attic space for the air handler installation.
- Existing ductwork needed minor modifications for optimal airflow.
- Ensuring proper refrigerant charge and system evacuation.
Installation Process
Step 1: Removing the Old Unit
The first step was safely removing the outdated air conditioning system. We ensured proper recovery of any refrigerant, followed by the disconnection of ductwork and electrical components.
Step 2: Preparing the New System
The 2-ton Rheem Endeavor unit was selected for its high efficiency and reliability. Before installation, we performed a site assessment to ensure proper airflow, placement, and electrical connections.
Step 3: Installing the Indoor and Outdoor Components
The furnace and evaporator coil were installed inside the attic, with careful attention to insulation and condensation drainage. The outdoor condenser was mounted on a level pad, secured with vibration isolators for quiet operation.
Step 4: Refrigerant Charging and Testing
Using a Fieldpiece SMAN digital manifold gauge, we performed a system vacuum to remove moisture and air contaminants. After ensuring a proper vacuum level, we charged the system with the correct amount of R-410A refrigerant.
Step 5: Final Testing and Optimization
Once the installation was complete, we tested the system’s operation, airflow, and temperature differential to ensure peak performance. The unit delivered consistent cooling and heating, meeting manufacturer specifications.
