Fast Affordable Air recently inspected and serviced a residential central Air Conditioning system in the Las Vegas area. The project included the outdoor AC condenser and the Heating and Cooling equipment installed inside the attic.
A central Air Conditioner has several parts that must work together. The outdoor unit releases heat from the home. The attic equipment moves air through the ductwork and sends cool air into each room. A problem with either section can cause weak airflow, poor Cooling, high energy use, or a complete system shutdown.
The equipment label and test readings are not clear in the project photos. For that reason, this report does not guess the brand, refrigerant type, pressure readings, or exact part that failed. The pictures document the important areas that were inspected during the HVAC service.
Inspecting the Outdoor Central AC Unit
The first four pictures show the outdoor condenser sitting on a concrete equipment pad beside the home. A condenser is the large outdoor section of an Air Conditioner. It contains a fan, a compressor, and a coil that releases heat into the outdoor air.
The technician began with a visual inspection of the cabinet, top fan area, condenser coil, electrical connection, refrigerant tubing, and equipment pad. The cabinet showed normal outdoor wear from heat, dust, wind, and weather.
The area around the unit was also checked. An outdoor condenser needs enough open space to pull air through its coil. Rocks, leaves, plants, stored items, and heavy dirt can block airflow. Poor airflow makes the compressor work harder and may increase electricity use.
The concrete pad helps hold the central Air Conditioning unit above the ground. The technician checks that the equipment remains stable and does not lean far to one side. A badly shifted unit may place extra strain on the refrigerant lines and electrical wiring.
Checking the Refrigerant Lines and Service Valves
A closer picture shows the refrigerant tubing where it connects to the outdoor unit. Refrigerant is the special fluid that carries heat from inside the home to the outdoor condenser.
The larger copper line should normally have insulation around it. This insulation helps keep the line cold and prevents heat from entering it. Damaged, loose, or missing insulation can reduce efficiency and may cause moisture to form on the tubing.
The technician inspected the line insulation, connection points, service valves, and nearby wiring. Service valves are the access points used by a trained HVAC technician when testing refrigerant pressure or servicing the system. The connections are also checked for oily marks because oil near a joint can sometimes be a warning sign of a refrigerant leak.

Inspecting the Attic Furnace and Indoor Cooling Equipment
The next group of pictures shows the indoor HVAC equipment installed in the attic. This setup appears to include a gas furnace, an indoor evaporator coil, refrigerant tubing, drain piping, and connected ductwork.
The evaporator coil is the part that becomes cold when the central AC runs. Indoor air passes across this coil. Heat is removed from the air, and the blower sends the cooled air through the ducts.
The furnace cabinet and nearby connections were visually inspected for loose panels, damaged wiring, air gaps, moisture, rust, and signs of movement. Attic equipment can be difficult to reach, but it still needs careful inspection because small problems can remain hidden until the system stops working.
Gas Line and Shutoff Valve
One picture clearly shows a flexible gas connector and a yellow gas shutoff valve. The shutoff valve allows the gas supply to be turned off when the furnace needs repair or maintenance.
The technician checks that the valve is reachable and that the connector is not crushed, stretched, or rubbing against a sharp surface. Gas components require special care. Repairs should only be completed by a qualified professional with the correct tools and training.
Because this system provides both heating and Cooling, the furnace area is also important during an Air Conditioning repair. The same blower used for heating often moves the cool air during summer. Related furnace problems may be handled through heater repair service.
Reviewing the Ductwork and Airflow Path
The attic pictures show large insulated ducts attached to the indoor equipment. Ductwork is the system of tubes that carries conditioned air to the rooms of the home.
The technician checks the duct connections for loose sections, holes, crushed areas, and missing sealant. A gap around a duct connection can allow cold air to escape into the attic instead of reaching the living space. The home may then feel warm even while the Air Conditioner runs for a long time.
The return-air path also needs to stay open. Return air is the warm indoor air pulled back into the HVAC system. If the filter is clogged or a return duct is damaged, the blower may struggle to move enough air across the indoor coil.
Inspecting the Drain Lines
An Air Conditioning system removes moisture from indoor air. That water collects below the evaporator coil and leaves through a condensate drain. Condensate means the water created when warm, moist air touches the cold indoor coil.
The visible drain piping was inspected for poor support, loose connections, cracks, and signs of water. A blocked or damaged drain may allow water to collect around attic equipment. This can damage insulation, ceilings, wood, or other parts of the home.
Checking the Attic Electrical Control Box
Another picture shows an electrical control or connection box near the attic framing. The cover or mounting appears damaged or out of position. The exact purpose of the box cannot be confirmed from the photo alone.
During HVAC service, electrical boxes and low-voltage controls are checked for secure mounting, protected wiring, tight connections, and damaged parts. Low voltage is the smaller electrical signal used by a thermostat to tell the Heating and Cooling equipment when to start or stop.
A loose control box should not be ignored. Movement may pull on the wires or leave electrical parts exposed. Power must be safely disconnected before a technician opens, secures, or repairs this type of component.
Testing the Complete Heating and Cooling System
After the inspection and needed corrections, the central Air Conditioner should be tested as one complete system. The thermostat is used to start the Cooling cycle. The technician then listens to the indoor blower and outdoor fan, checks airflow from the vents, and watches for unusual noise or shaking.
Depending on the problem, testing may also include refrigerant pressure, electrical amperage, capacitor strength, temperature difference, and safety-control operation. A capacitor is a small electrical part that helps a motor start and continue running.
The project photos do not show the final readings, so no exact measurements are listed. Recording real test results is important because it helps confirm whether the AC is operating within the equipment maker’s approved range.
