- Compressor side: Only 7.19 microfarads (µF)
- Fan side: 5.05 microfarads (µF)
For reference, this capacitor should be delivering 35 µF for the compressor and 5 µF for the fan motor. The compressor side was far below the safe operating range. A weak capacitor like this puts extra stress on the compressor and can shorten the life of the entire system.
Replacing the Faulty Capacitor
We removed the old Titan HD capacitor and installed a new TP-CAP 35/5 µF 440V dual run capacitor. This type of capacitor is designed to handle both the compressor and fan motor together. After wiring the new part in, we tested again to confirm strong, balanced readings within the proper tolerance range.
