Air Conditioning Repair With Outdoor Condenser and Indoor Blower Inspection

The first photo shows the refrigerant lines running from the outdoor Air Conditioner into the home. A refrigerant line set is a pair of copper tubes that carries refrigerant between the indoor and outdoor equipment. Refrigerant is the special fluid that collects heat indoors and moves it outside.

The larger copper line is normally covered with black insulation. This covering helps keep the line cold and limits unwanted heat from entering it. The technician checked the insulation for splits, loose tape, crushed areas, and openings near the brick wall. Damaged insulation can allow the line to absorb outdoor heat and may also cause moisture to form around the pipe.

Reviewing Unit Placement and Outdoor Airflow

This step helps confirm that the blower is operating, the ducts are carrying air, and Cooling is reaching the living space. A technician may also compare the temperature of the air entering the system with the temperature coming from the supply vents.
