Cooling a home involves more than the outdoor air conditioner. Air also moves through equipment and ducts inside the house. In this project, Fast Affordable Air documented both sides of a central AC system. The photos show an outdoor unit connected to testing gauges and a HALO-LED air purifier mounted on the indoor equipment in the attic.
Checking the outdoor cooling unit
The first two photos show the outdoor unit with its service panel open. This unit releases heat from the home into the outside air. The open panel gave the technician access to the parts and connections needed for a system check. It does not, by itself, tell us that an electrical part was replaced.
In the third photo, a Fieldpiece digital gauge is connected to the refrigerant lines. Refrigerant is the fluid that carries heat through an air conditioning system. The gauge displays pressures and other readings that help a technician understand how the system is running. A pressure number alone cannot prove that an AC needs more refrigerant. The technician also has to consider temperatures, airflow, the type of refrigerant, and the equipment’s instructions before deciding whether anything needs to be adjusted.
Adding an air purifier to the indoor system
The last three photos move into the attic. They show a blue HALO-LED device mounted on the metal housing of the indoor heating and cooling equipment. Its label includes an “AIR FLOW” arrow, which helps the installer position it for the direction air travels through the system.
The HALO-LED is an in-duct air purifier. “In-duct” means it works within the path of air moving through the home’s HVAC system. The close-up photos show the device and its connected wire after mounting. The pictures document the installation, though they do not provide an indoor air quality test before and after the work.
What each part of the work can help with
Testing the outdoor air conditioner gives the technician information about cooling performance. If a problem is found and corrected, the system may cool more reliably and avoid wasting energy. These photos do not establish a specific fault, repair, or measured drop in the homeowner’s power bill.
The HALO-LED addresses a different part of home comfort. It is designed to treat air moving through the HVAC system. It does not replace an air filter, and it does not make the air conditioner produce more cold air. Keeping the filter in good condition and maintaining proper airflow still matter for everyday comfort and efficient cooling.
