Project Overview
This air conditioning installation project took place in a residential attic in Las Vegas. The goal was to replace an outdated HVAC system with a more energy-efficient and reliable unit. The selected system for the job was the 4-ton 14.3 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner, known for its durability and performance in extreme climates.
One of the challenges of this project was working within a confined attic space, ensuring proper ventilation, and integrating the new furnace and AC unit into the home’s existing ductwork.
Installation Process
1. Removing the Old HVAC System
- We began by safely disconnecting the existing system, shutting off gas and electrical connections to avoid hazards.
- The old furnace and air handler were removed, making way for the new Rheem system.
- The existing ductwork was inspected for leaks or inefficiencies.
2. Installing the New Rheem Furnace and Air Conditioner
- Mounting the Furnace: The Rheem Endeavor gas furnace was securely fastened in the attic using support brackets.
- Gas Line Connection: The yellow flexible gas line was connected, ensuring a tight, leak-proof fit.
- Electrical Hookup: The new unit was wired correctly, following manufacturer specifications.
- Ventilation and Flue Piping: A metal exhaust pipe was installed to safely direct combustion gases outside.
- Drainage System: Condensate drain lines were installed for proper moisture removal.
3. Connecting the Outdoor Condenser
- The outdoor Rheem condenser was mounted on a concrete slab to prevent movement and damage.
- Refrigerant lines were insulated to prevent efficiency loss.
- An electrical disconnect box was installed for easy servicing.
Why Rheem?
