Updated NV Energy Air Conditioning Rebate program for 2024

What is the NV Energy PowerShift program?

The NV Energy PowerShift program is an initiative designed to help Nevada residents improve their home’s energy efficiency. It provides substantial rebates and incentives for upgrading to high-efficiency air conditioning systems.

Who is eligible for the PowerShift program?

To be eligible, your home must be located within NV Energy’s service territory, be a residential single-family or multifamily home with four units or less per foundation, and have a current residential account/rate code with NV Energy. The equipment must not receive incentives from any other NV Energy program.

What types of air conditioning systems qualify for the PowerShift rebates?

Qualifying systems include central air conditioners, air source heat pumps, and ductless heat pump systems that meet minimum efficiency requirements of 15.2 SEER2 for air conditioners and heat pumps, and 18 SEER2/9 HSPF2 for ductless systems.

Is there rebates for systems that have a 14 SEER2 rating?

No. Though 14 SEER2 is going to be more efficient than your 10- to 20-year-old ac it does not meet the minimum.

How much can I save with the PowerShift rebates?

Savings can range from $340 to $3,060 for standard incentives, depending on the system and its efficiency rating. Income-qualified individuals may receive even higher incentives, up to $3,400. Thess amounts have changed in January of 2024.

I heard the rebate amounts were more last year. Is that true?

Yes. They were 1oo to 200 more on most of the qualifying system. NV Energy will set the rebate at will. It should also be noted that the program will continue until NV Energy has full filled their set dollar amount to spend. For that reason, there is no guarantee that it will be available in the future.

Do I need to handle the paperwork for the rebate application?

No, Fast Affordable Air handles all the paperwork associated with the NV Energy rebate application. We ensure that you receive all eligible discounts and make the process hassle-free for you.

Can I still get a rebate if I participate in other NV Energy programs?

No, equipment installed under the PowerShift program cannot receive incentives from any other NV Energy energy efficiency program.

I bought my New AC already through another company. Can I still apply for the rebate?

No. Unfortunately the contractor that installs the new HVAC equipment must be partnered with NV Energy. That contractor must also show the rebate as a line item on their invoice.

How do I know if I qualify for the better rebates for income-qualified incentives?

Eligibility for income-qualified incentives will be confirmed through NV Energy. Customers who currently participate in the Nevada Energy Assistance Program or live in designated affordable housing are automatically eligible for higher incentives.

How does upgrading to a high-efficiency system benefit me?

Upgrading to a high-efficiency air conditioning system can significantly reduce your energy bills, provide a more consistent and comfortable indoor climate, and reduce your environmental impact through decreased energy consumption.

What does the installation process involve?

Fast Affordable Air will schedule a consultation to assess your current system, discuss your needs, and recommend the best high-efficiency system for your home. We handle the complete installation process, ensuring that it is done efficiently and with minimal disruption to your home.

Can I use a different contractor and still get the rebate?

Yes. There are dozens of approved contractors on the NV Energy website. If you do not see your contractor on there, send them to the sign up page and they can submit for approval.
