Air Conditioning Check-Up & Cleaning: Ensuring Reliable Cooling

At Fast Affordable Air, we recently completed a thorough air conditioning check-up and cleaning in Las Vegas, ensuring our customer’s HVAC system runs smoothly and efficiently. Routine maintenance like this keeps your cooling system operating efficiently while preventing costly breakdowns during the hot summer months.

Step 1: Cleaning the Condenser Coil

The condenser coil is the large metal grid located outside your home. Over time, dirt, leaves, and debris accumulate on it, blocking airflow. This forces your central air conditioning to work harder, raising energy costs.

We started by thoroughly washing the coil with a hose to remove debris and restore airflow. As you can see in the picture, the build-up of dirt was significant, but with proper cleaning, the system can now breathe and cool efficiently.

Step 2: Removing Dirt from the Condensate Pan

Inside every outdoor AC unit, there is a condensate pan that collects moisture as the unit cools the air. Over time, this pan can become filled with dirt, mold, or algae, leading to drainage issues and potential water damage.

Using water pressure, we cleaned out the pan and ensured it was free from any obstructions. This simple step helps prevent mold growth and ensures proper drainage.

Step 3: Checking Refrigerant Lines and System Operation

We inspected the refrigerant lines for leaks and damage. The refrigerant is the substance that keeps your air cool. If there’s a leak, your central air conditioning system can lose efficiency quickly.

Additionally, we checked the overall operation of the system, ensuring all components—like the compressor and fan motor—were working correctly.

Why Maintenance Matters

Air conditioning maintenance improves energy efficiency, extends the lifespan of your HVAC system, and prevents costly repairs. A clean condenser coil alone can improve system efficiency by up to 20%, saving you money on your energy bills.
