Air Conditioning Project in Las Vegas: Installing a 3.5 Ton 15.2 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner

This residential air conditioning project was undertaken in Las Vegas, where summer temperatures demand reliable and efficient cooling systems. The property required a high-performing central air conditioning solution to ensure year-round comfort. Our task included installing a 3.5-ton Rheem Endeavor Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner system. The challenge lay in retrofitting the system into an attic space with limited access and existing ductwork requiring optimization for efficiency.

Installation Process

  1. Initial Assessment:

    • The attic space was thoroughly inspected to evaluate structural integrity and plan the unit’s placement.
    • Existing ductwork was checked for leaks or inefficiencies. The customer’s previous system had outdated duct connections, which compromised airflow and energy efficiency.
  2. System Setup:

    • Furnace Placement: The gas furnace was installed securely in the attic. As shown in the pictures, we ensured proper clearance for maintenance and compliance with safety regulations.
    • Ductwork Connection: Using insulated flexible ducts, we connected the new Rheem unit to the existing system. Each connection was sealed with mastic to prevent air leaks.
    • Drain Line Installation: A new PVC drain line was installed to manage condensation effectively, ensuring no water damage to the attic.
    • Electrical Wiring: The unit’s electrical components were integrated with the home’s power system, ensuring safety with proper grounding.
  3. Outdoor Condenser Installation:

    • The Rheem condenser unit was placed on a leveled concrete pad outside the home. It was positioned away from obstructions to allow optimal airflow.
    • Refrigerant lines were run from the condenser to the attic unit, carefully insulated to maintain efficiency.
  4. Testing and Calibration:

    • After the installation, the system was tested for proper airflow, cooling output, and energy consumption.
    • Adjustments were made to the thermostat settings to optimize comfort and efficiency.

Why Rheem?

The Rheem Endeavor series is a popular choice for its:

  • Energy Efficiency: This unit features a SEER2 rating of 15.2, providing significant energy savings compared to older systems.
  • Durability: Rheem systems are built with high-quality components designed for long-term reliability.
  • Quiet Operation: Advanced fan and compressor technology ensures minimal noise during operation.
  • Environmentally Friendly Refrigerants: Rheem uses modern refrigerants that are less harmful to the environment.

Benefits of the New System

  • Improved Energy Efficiency:
    • The SEER2 rating ensures reduced energy consumption, leading to noticeable cost savings on utility bills.
  • Enhanced Indoor Comfort:
    • With better airflow and cooling capacity, the home now maintains consistent temperatures even during peak summer heat.
  • Reduced Maintenance Needs:
    • Modern components and proper installation minimize breakdowns and maintenance costs.
  • Increased Home Value:
    • Installing a high-efficiency system like this boosts the property’s value and appeal.
