Project Location: Residential, Las Vegas, NV
We recently completed a residential air conditioning project in Las Vegas, where we installed a highly efficient 5-ton 20 SEER Bosch Dual Fuel Split System. This installation was a great solution for the homeowner, combining the advantages of a heat pump with a gas furnace. The system provides flexibility for heating and cooling, ensuring the most energy-efficient option is utilized depending on the weather conditions.
The system featured:
- Bosch 20 SEER Heat Pump Condenser
- Bosch Coil
- Bosch 95% AFUE Gas Furnace
Each component works together to deliver outstanding performance and energy savings, making this dual fuel system an ideal choice for the desert climate of Las Vegas.
Procedure
System Removal and Inspection
Before starting the installation, we inspected the existing system and ductwork to ensure proper airflow and compatibility with the new Bosch units. After safely disconnecting the old equipment, we removed it from the property.Heat Pump Condenser Installation (Image 2)
The outdoor condenser is the heart of the cooling system. We installed a 5-ton Bosch Heat Pump Condenser, capable of providing efficient cooling during the hottest days of the year. Its 20 SEER rating makes it one of the most energy-efficient options on the market, saving the homeowner significantly on energy bills. The condenser was carefully placed on a solid foundation, ensuring stability and correct positioning for optimal performance.Ductwork and Coil Setup (Image 1 & 3)
In the attic, we installed the Bosch coil and connected it to the ductwork. Proper sealing and insulation are critical to prevent energy loss and ensure that the system operates at peak efficiency. The ductwork was reinforced and sealed with high-grade foil tape to prevent air leakage. This ensures that all cooled air reaches the rooms efficiently.Gas Furnace Installation (Image 3, 4, 5)
The Bosch 95% AFUE gas furnace was installed next to the coil, ensuring that the dual fuel system could seamlessly switch between the heat pump and gas furnace, depending on the temperature. The 95% AFUE rating means that 95% of the fuel is converted to heat, with only 5% wasted, offering high efficiency during colder months.Electrical and Control Systems (Image 6)
Wiring and control systems were installed to integrate the heat pump and gas furnace with the home’s thermostat, allowing for automatic switching between electric and gas heat. This ensures that the homeowner always benefits from the most energy-efficient heating method available.
Why Bosch?
We chose Bosch for this installation because of the brand’s reputation for reliability and efficiency. Here are the key benefits of the Bosch 5-ton 20 SEER Dual Fuel Split System:
- Energy Efficiency: The 20 SEER rating of the heat pump condenser ensures maximum cooling efficiency, which is especially important in hot climates like Las Vegas.
- Cost Savings: Dual fuel systems allow the homeowner to switch between electricity (heat pump) and gas, depending on which is more affordable at the time, providing significant savings over time.
- Environmentally Friendly: Bosch systems use eco-friendly refrigerants and high-efficiency components, reducing the overall carbon footprint of the HVAC system.
- Comfort: The seamless integration between the heat pump and gas furnace ensures consistent indoor temperatures, regardless of the weather outside.
Benefits of the Installation
- Energy Efficiency: The system’s 20 SEER rating offers exceptional energy savings, potentially cutting the homeowner’s utility bills by 30-50% compared to older systems.
- Dual Fuel Flexibility: This system automatically switches between electric and gas heat, depending on outdoor temperatures, ensuring optimal performance and cost savings.
- Improved Indoor Air Quality: The advanced filtration system within the Bosch furnace helps to reduce dust and allergens, contributing to healthier indoor air.
- Long-Term Savings: With high efficiency ratings and the dual fuel capability, this Bosch system is designed to offer long-term cost savings by utilizing the most economical energy source.
