Air Conditioning Repair and Electrical Diagnosis on a Residential HVAC System

This air conditioning repair project involved diagnosing and servicing a residential HVAC system that was not operating reliably. Indoor Air Handler and Filter Inspection

Inside the home, the First Co. air handler was accessed through the return air grille. The system uses a 20x24x1 air filter, which plays a major role in protecting the indoor coil and blower assembly.

The blower motor and wiring were inspected for signs of wear, dust buildup, and loose connections. A blower motor is the fan that pushes cooled air through the ductwork and into the living space. When airflow is restricted, cooling performance drops and energy usage increases.

The evaporator coil, located above the filter, is where the air conditioner removes heat from indoor air. Even light dust buildup can reduce heat transfer and lower overall system efficiency.

Airflow and Comfort Improvements

By addressing electrical weaknesses and verifying proper airflow, the system was restored to stable and reliable operation. Balanced airflow allows the central AC system to cool rooms evenly while reducing stress on mechanical components.
