Project Overview
At Fast Affordable Air, we recently completed a comprehensive air conditioning repair and upgrade project for a local property in Las Vegas. The project involved the repair and maintenance of a central air conditioning unit to enhance energy efficiency and ensure reliable cooling for the building’s occupants.Repair and Upgrade Procedure
The images provided show a rooftop-mounted air conditioning unit. This type of system, commonly referred to as a packaged unit, combines the heating and cooling components into a single enclosure. Below, we outline the key steps we took during this project:1. Initial Inspection
We started by inspecting the unit’s exterior and interior components. This included checking for visible damage, loose panels, and any signs of wear or corrosion. The control board, which acts as the system’s “brain,” was identified as needing repair due to signs of overheating and irregular operation.2. Control Board Repair
Control boards are crucial to a system’s functionality. They regulate the unit’s cycles, ensuring the compressor and fan motor operate efficiently. For this project, we replaced the faulty control board. This involved disconnecting the existing wiring, carefully removing the damaged board, and installing a new factory-approved replacement. Proper calibration was also performed to match the specific requirements of this unit.3. Cleaning and Maintenance
The condenser coils and fan blades were thoroughly cleaned to improve heat exchange efficiency. Debris buildup in these areas can reduce cooling capacity and increase energy consumption. This simple step alone can lower energy costs by up to 15%!4. System Testing
After completing the repairs, we conducted a comprehensive system test. This included checking refrigerant levels, ensuring all electrical connections were secure, and verifying the thermostat communication with the control board. The system passed all tests with flying colors, providing optimal cooling performance.Project Benefits
By upgrading the control board and performing maintenance, the client can now enjoy several benefits:- Improved Energy Efficiency: The system now operates more efficiently, leading to lower utility bills.
- Enhanced Comfort: The air conditioning system provides consistent cooling throughout the property.
- Increased System Lifespan: Regular maintenance and component upgrades help prolong the life of the HVAC system.
