Step 1: Outdoor unit inspection in a tight side yard
We started at the outdoor condensing unit because that is where heat gets dumped outside. The pictures show the unit tucked between stucco walls, with limited clearance on the coil side. That tight space can cause the unit to recirculate its own hot air. When that happens, the compressor can run under extra stress and the home may feel like the Air Conditioning is “not keeping up.”
- Clearance check and a cleanup around the pad. We removed loose debris and cleared the area so air can move around the condenser coil.
- Coil guard inspection. The unit had a protective “wrap” around the coil. A coil guard is a wire or metal frame that protects the delicate fins from damage. If it is bent or packed with dirt, it can block airflow like a clogged screen.
- Electrical disconnect review. The disconnect box mounted on the wall is the on and off safety switch for the outdoor unit. We verified it was secure and that wiring looked intact.

Step 4: Duct and insulation details that impact comfort
Several attic photos show insulation placed around duct runs. Insulation matters because ducts are like “pipes for air.” If the duct insulation is thin, missing, or torn, the cool air warms up before it reaches bedrooms. That makes the Air Conditioner run longer.
