Lennox Central Air Conditioning and Furnace Repair Project

At Fast Affordable Air, we recently completed a repair and inspection on a Lennox Merit Series furnace system paired with outdoor air conditioning condensers. This type of setup is called a split HVAC system, meaning part of the equipment is inside the attic and the other part is outside the home. Together, they provide heating in the winter and cooling in the summer for families across Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas.

Step 1: Furnace and Electrical Check in the Attic

The project began in the attic where the Lennox gas furnace is located. We inspected the control board and electrical wiring. The control board is like the “brain” of the system, telling different parts when to turn on and off. Loose or damaged wires can cause the furnace and air conditioner to stop working properly, so tightening and cleaning connections was important here.

Step 2: Blower Motor and Gas Valve Inspection

We checked the blower motor, which is the part that pushes air through the ductwork and into each room. A dirty or weak motor can make airflow uneven. We also inspected the gas valve, which controls the amount of natural gas that flows into the burners. This ensures safe and efficient heating when the system runs in furnace mode.

Step 3: Outdoor Condenser Unit Service

Outside the home, we serviced the Lennox condenser units. These are responsible for removing heat from the home during summer cooling. Each condenser connects to the furnace in the attic through insulated copper refrigerant lines. Over time, the insulation can wear down, and refrigerant pressures need to be checked to make sure the system cools efficiently. Cleaning around the outdoor unit also prevents dirt and leaves from blocking airflow.

Step 4: Safety Disconnects and Power Supply

We verified the electrical disconnect boxes located near the outdoor condensers. These safety switches allow the power to be quickly shut off during service. Keeping them in good condition is critical for both safety and performance.

Benefits of the Repair

  • Improved airflow through the duct system, meaning rooms cool faster.
  • Reduced strain on the blower motor and condenser, helping the system last longer.
  • Better energy efficiency, lowering utility bills for the homeowner.
  • Peace of mind knowing the gas valve and electrical controls are safe and reliable.

Regular maintenance and prompt repairs on systems like this keep families in Clark County comfortable year-round. For more details on similar services, see our Air Conditioning Repair page or our guide to Heating Services.
