Professional Central Air Conditioning Installation and Repair in Las Vegas

Fast Affordable Air recently completed a full heating and cooling system project in a local Las Vegas home, replacing outdated equipment with a high-efficiency Oxbox by Trane central AC unit and ensuring every component was properly installed, sealed, and tested for peak performance. This project included work in both the attic and the outdoor condenser area, delivering better comfort and lower energy costs for the homeowner.

Attic Air Handler and Ductwork Sealing

The attic portion of the project involved the home’s central air handler installation. This Trane unit is responsible for circulating conditioned air through the duct system. We carefully suspended the unit using metal hanging straps to reduce vibration and noise.

All duct connections were sealed with mastic — a thick, paste-like sealant designed to prevent air leaks. Air leaks in ductwork can cause cooled or heated air to escape before it reaches your rooms, forcing the system to work harder and wasting energy. By sealing these joints, we ensured maximum airflow efficiency and improved indoor comfort.

We also checked the metal flue venting and insulated flex duct connections, making sure each joint was secured and supported to avoid sagging, which can reduce airflow.

Outdoor Condenser Unit Installation

The homeowner’s outdoor unit was replaced with a durable, energy-efficient Oxbox condenser, a trusted Trane brand known for performance and reliability. The new unit was mounted on a level concrete pad, which helps maintain proper oil circulation inside the compressor and prevents water pooling during rain.

Inside the condenser cabinet, we inspected and secured the copper refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and the compressor. The coil fins were in perfect condition, which is important for optimal heat transfer. We also made sure debris and plant material were removed from the bottom of the unit to allow unobstructed airflow and to prevent overheating.

Refrigerant Line and Connection Checks

Outside, the refrigerant lines were brazed and pressure-tested to confirm there were no leaks. We also verified proper insulation on the suction line to prevent energy loss and condensation issues. A secure service valve cap was installed to prevent refrigerant leaks and keep out contaminants.

Benefits of This Upgrade

  • Improved Comfort: The upgraded system delivers consistent, balanced cooling throughout the home, even during peak summer heat.
  • Lower Energy Bills: High-efficiency components and airtight ductwork mean the system uses less electricity to achieve the same — or better — cooling results.
  • Longer Equipment Life: Proper installation and maintenance help the system operate with less strain, reducing wear and tear on major parts like the compressor and blower motor.
  • Quieter Operation: Secure mounting and balanced airflow help keep noise levels low both inside and outside.

This project demonstrates how combining skilled HVAC installation practices with quality equipment like Trane’s Oxbox line can transform a home’s comfort and efficiency. Whether it’s AC repair, replacement, or a complete heating and cooling upgrade, having a licensed contractor in Las Vegas ensures the job is done right from start to finish.
