The customer reported inconsistent indoor temperatures and noticeable warm airflow from vents during peak afternoon hours. Repair Procedure
- Pipe Securing: We used galvanized perforated strapping to stabilize the natural gas pipe running to the furnace burner assembly. This prevents shifting during windy conditions and extends the life of the connection.
- Rust Inspection: The rusted elbow joint was assessed for leaks. While still functional, we noted it for future replacement. Surface rust was wire-brushed and treated with anti-corrosion spray.
- Electrical Conduit Adjustment: We repositioned the exposed electrical whip to prevent abrasion and possible short circuits.
- Drainage Review: The PVC condensate drain line was checked for proper slope and clogs. The line was clear and draining as expected.
- Weatherproofing: Mastic sealant and UV-resistant caulking were reapplied around the base of the unit where roofing shingles meet the curb, preventing water leaks into the attic or ceiling space below.
