At Fast Affordable Air, our licensed HVAC team was recently called to service a Carrier rooftop package unit in Las Vegas. These numbers are important because refrigerant is the lifeblood of an air conditioner. If the pressure is too low, it could mean a leak; too high, and the system is overworked.
Electrical and Safety Components
We inspected the contactor, capacitors, and wiring. A capacitor stores energy to help motors start, much like a battery gives a car engine its first kick. Faulty capacitors are one of the most common reasons an AC won’t turn on. Everything in this system checked out within range.
Drainage and Airflow
Proper drainage is critical in the Las Vegas heat. We verified that the PVC condensate lines were clear, which prevents water backup that could damage the system or roof structure. We also checked the fan motor that helps move air across the coils, ensuring smooth operation.
