Air Conditioning Project: 4-Ton 14.3 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner Installation

This recent air conditioning project took place in a residential area of Henderson, Nevada, where we installed a new 4-ton 14.3 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor Gas Furnace and Air Conditioner system. Our team at Fast Affordable Air was tasked with replacing an older, inefficient unit with a more energy-efficient and reliable solution. This project involved overcoming the challenge of working in tight attic spaces and ensuring that the ductwork was properly sealed to optimize airflow throughout the home.

Procedure Overview

  1. Removal of the Old Unit: The first step in the process was removing the old outdoor unit and furnace, which had seen significant wear and tear over the years. You can see from the second image above, the condition of the older unit—rusted fins and clogged coils, a clear sign of inefficiency. Once disconnected, we safely removed the unit, allowing us to proceed with the installation of the new Rheem system.

  2. Ductwork Inspection and Sealing: Before installing the new equipment, we inspected the ductwork. One of the challenges we faced was finding gaps in the duct insulation (as seen in the attic photo), which could have caused air leaks. Using high-quality insulation and sealing techniques, we were able to fix these gaps and ensure no energy loss occurs through the ductwork.

  3. Installation of the New Rheem Unit: The new unit, as shown in the first and last photos, was a 4-ton 14.3 SEER2 Rheem Endeavor. This unit is known for its energy efficiency and advanced cooling capabilities, making it a perfect fit for the hot Nevada climate. We carefully positioned the unit, connected all the wiring, and tested the system for proper operation.

  4. Indoor Furnace Installation: In the attic, we installed a high-efficiency gas furnace. This furnace ensures that during the cooler months, the homeowners will have reliable heating. With proper insulation and smart zoning, this system will keep the home’s temperature consistent year-round.

  5. Final Checks and Adjustments: After installation, we ran the system for a few hours to ensure there were no leaks, the thermostat was accurately calibrated, and the airflow was optimal in all rooms of the house. Our technicians also checked refrigerant levels and airflow to make sure the unit was functioning within factory specifications.
