When your AC (also called an Air Conditioner or Air Conditioning) is not cooling right, the problem is not always outside. Many homes in the Las Vegas area have their HVAC equipment in the attic, and that is exactly where this job took us. On this visit, our Fast Affordable Air technician inspected a Bryant central AC setup and found an indoor airflow problem tied to the blower motor and its electrical parts.

What we saw in the attic
The indoor unit was a Bryant furnace and evaporator section installed in the attic. This part of the system is where the air gets pushed through the home. If the indoor blower motor is weak or failing, your Air Conditioning can feel “lazy,” even if the outdoor unit is running.
We also checked the duct connections around the equipment. Ductwork is like the “air highway” for your Central Cooling. If air leaks out in the attic, less cool air reaches the rooms.
Step 1, confirm the problem with a quick temperature check
We used a handheld temperature meter at a ceiling vent to see what the system was delivering. The reading we captured during testing was about 63.1°F. That number helps us verify whether the Cooling is moving in the right direction and whether airflow looks normal.
Note: supply air is the cool air coming out of the vent. Return air is the warmer air being pulled back to the system. The difference between them can reveal airflow or refrigerant problems.
Step 2, inspect the indoor blower motor and electrical parts
Inside the attic unit, we focused on the evaporator blower section. The blower motor is the “fan engine” that moves air across the indoor coil and into the ducts. If that motor cannot spin correctly, the coil may get too cold, the airflow can drop, and comfort suffers.
Simple definition
A capacitor is a small part that stores a quick burst of electricity to help a motor start and keep running. Example: if the capacitor is weak, a motor may hum, start slowly, or shut off.
Step 3, replace the failed motor with a properly matched motor
Based on the motor data and the system needs, we installed a replacement evaporator motor (Trade Pro motor shown in the photos). Matching a motor is not just about making it “fit.” We match important specs like horsepower, voltage, speed (RPM), and rotation so the HVAC system moves the right amount of air.
The motor packaging shown lists a Trade Pro Evaporator Motor and calls out key specs such as 115VAC and 1075 RPM. This is the type of indoor motor used to restore airflow on many attic installations.
Step 4, replace or verify the run capacitor value
When a blower motor is replaced, the capacitor must also be checked. The photos show a capacitor labeled 10 µF at 370VAC. A capacitor that is the wrong size can overheat a motor, cause weak airflow, and shorten motor life. Getting the match right helps the new motor run smoother and cooler.
Step 5, final system check for comfort and reliability
After the motor work, we re-checked operation and airflow. We also made sure wiring connections were secure and routed safely. In attic systems, clean, safe wiring matters because heat and tight spaces can stress electrical parts over time.
