Temptrol Attic Furnace Repair and Dual Condenser Inspection – Las Vegas

Our team at Fast Affordable Air recently tackled a central air conditioning system repair inside a residential attic in Las Vegas. The project involved inspecting and servicing a Temptrol gas furnace and air handler unit paired with two outdoor condensers. Inspection and Diagnosis

We began by assessing the indoor furnace unit located in the attic. Next, we evaluated the gas line, condensate drainage system, and checked the flame sensor and ignitor components for signs of corrosion or wear.

We also made sure the high-voltage electrical disconnect outside was properly labeled and functional. This is the shutoff switch mounted near the outdoor condensers for emergency or service use.

Outdoor Condenser Assessment

Outside, we examined two condensers. The first unit was mounted on a clean concrete pad with proper suction and liquid refrigerant lines. The refrigerant line insulation was intact, and we ensured that the unit was level — a simple but critical step. A tilted unit can cause internal oil to collect unevenly, reducing compressor life.

The second condenser was placed in a tight corner next to the meter panel and a bush. While it had clear airflow from the front, the back was partially obstructed by vegetation. We trimmed back the bushes to give the unit breathing room. Lack of airflow can cause higher pressures, leading to short cycling and eventual system failure.

System Performance and Benefits

After cleaning filters, testing blower motor amperage, and running a full cycle from the thermostat, we confirmed that both indoor and outdoor components were working in sync.
